Alzheimer's Awareness & Screening Programme
HKSH prioritises cognitive health and has launched the Alzheimer’s Awareness & Screening Programme for individuals with suspected or heightened risk of Alzheimer’s disease, led by our specialist team at the Neurology Centre. The programme includes assessments such as pTau217 blood testing and APOE genetic testing to support early risk identification and diagnosis, enabling physicians to tailor management plans and, where appropriate, consider anti-amyloid therapy at an earlier stage to help slow disease progression and preserve quality of life.

Patient Information on Acute Stroke Activation Programme (ASAP)
The ASAP programme was first launched in 2016 with the aim of providing intravenous thrombolytic therapy to acute ischaemic stroke patients within 3 hours of onset. Patients who are not responsive or not fit for intravenous therapy will undergo further assessment for appropriate treatment options. The upgraded AI-enhanced cerebrovascular imaging system (RapidAI software) provides prompt and accurate information to facilitate treatment decision by our neurologists and neurosurgeons. Time window for treatment can also be extended to beyond 3 hours in carefully selected patients.
