Li Shu Pui Symposium 2012 – Gathering local and overseas medical professionals to explore trends in "Contemporary Medical Practice"
In celebration of its 90th anniversary, Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital (HKSH) is proud to present the inaugural "Li Shu Pui Symposium 2012", in commemoration of the Hospital’s former Medical Superintendent Dr. Li Shu Pui. The symposium will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 17 June 2012 (Sunday), assembling local and overseas experts to discuss latest breakthroughs and research findings in the medical industry.
With a theme of "Contemporary Medical Practice", the forthcoming "Li Shu Pui Symposium 2012" will invite outside medical experts including Professors from The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong to join hands with HKSH specialists, some of which assuming the role of chairperson, to share diversified expertise in six disciplines, namely Minimally Invasive Surgery, Obstetrics and Paediatrics, Early Diagnosis of Cancer and Therapy, Ultrasound, MRI, CT and PET, Endoscope in Diagnosis and Therapy and Advances for Primary Care. The Hospital is also honoured to have the presence of Professor Michael M. Graham, Professor of Radiology of The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, to deliver the keynote lecture on "PET in Contemporary Medical Practice".
With a long-standing commitment to delivering "Quality in Service and Excellence in Care", HKSH has always been adhering to the principle of "Teaching", in hopes of nurturing the best talent for the sustainable development of the healthcare industry. To ensure doctors are kept abreast of latest medical and surgical advances, HKSH launched the first Continued Medical Education (CME) programme back in 1996, followed by the introduction of Recent Medical Advances for General Practitioners in 2004. Backed by a strong team of more than 90 in-house doctors from over 30 specialties, HKSH strives to contribute to the betterment of patient care by elevating overall healthcare standard through organizing multi-disciplinary symposia and courses that facilitate exchange and discussion within the profession.
