Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital - Voluntary Work Group "Village Volunteers" Second "Walk for Vision", Raises Over HK$400,000 for Make-A-Wish® Hong Kong to Grant Wishes for Severely Ill Children
On 21 March 2010, Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital's voluntary work group "Village Volunteers" organized its "Walk for Vision" charitable event. For the second time in a row, the "Village Volunteers" raised funds for Make-A-Wish® Hong Kong this year, in order to help severely ill children, including Jacky, who is suffered from muscular dystrophy by making his wish trip of seeing and having a ride on the famous high-speed trains in Japan come true.
Over 200 HKSH staff and their families joined the "Walk for Vision" event. The 11-kilometre route of the "Walk for Vision" ran from the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, passed through Wong Nai Chung Gap Road, Violet Hill and finished at the Hospital. Together with the dollar-for-dollar matching donation from the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, this event raised over HK$400,000 for Make-A-Wish® Hong Kong that will help Jacky and other seriously ill children to realize their wishes.
